Parent guidance for ADHD and anxiety, because you're carrying a lot.

Parenting a child with ADHD or anxiety takes more patience, planning, and advocacy than most people see. Parent guidance sessions are time just for you: to make sense of what's happening with your child, reduce conflict at home, and feel more confident in how you respond.

Who It's For

When parents reach out

Parent guidance can stand on its own or sit alongside your child's therapy. Sometimes it's the most effective place to start.

At home

  • Daily battles over homework, screens, or bedtime
  • Not knowing whether to push harder or back off
  • Tension between parents about how to respond
  • Siblings feeling the strain

At school

  • Teacher emails and calls that keep coming
  • Questions about 504 plans, IEPs, and accommodations
  • Feeling unsure how to advocate without escalating
  • Planning for transitions to a new grade or school

For you

  • A recent diagnosis and questions about what comes next
  • Exhaustion, guilt, or second-guessing yourself
  • Recognizing some of your child's struggles in yourself
  • Wanting a steadier, more connected relationship with your child

How It Works

What parent guidance looks like

Sessions are collaborative and practical. We start with understanding your child, then build an approach that fits your family's real life.

1

Free consultation

A 20-minute call to talk through what's happening and whether parent guidance is the right fit.

2

Understanding your child

We look at what's underneath the behavior: what's hard for your child, what triggers conflict, and what's already working.

3

A plan that fits

Practical strategies for routines, limits, and difficult moments, adapted to your child and your family.

4

School advocacy

Help preparing for school meetings, understanding evaluations, and asking for the right supports.

Calmer days, and more confidence in your choices.

Most parents I work with already know a lot about ADHD or anxiety. What's often missing is a clear way to apply it in the middle of a hard evening, and someone to think it through with.

Parent guidance is available in person in Stamford and Greenwich, and by telehealth, which many busy parents find easier to fit in.

Questions about parent guidance

Does my child need to be in therapy for me to do parent guidance?

No. Parent guidance can be a stand-alone service. For some families, especially with younger children, working with parents is the most effective place to start. It can also complement your child's own therapy.

Can both parents attend?

Yes, and it often helps. When both parents are working from the same understanding, it's easier to stay consistent at home.

Does my child need an ADHD diagnosis?

No. Parent guidance can help whether or not your child has been diagnosed. If you have questions about a diagnosis, we can talk about whether an ADHD assessment would be useful.

Are sessions in person or online?

Both. In-person sessions are available in Stamford and Greenwich, CT, and telehealth is available for parents in Connecticut, New York, and many other states through PsyPact.

Do you accept insurance?

I am an out-of-network provider. I can provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement. Many clients are able to recover a significant portion of fees this way.

Let's talk about what's happening at home.

A free consultation is a good place to start. We'll talk through what you're noticing and figure out the right next step together.
